You know it's cold outside when you wake up in the morning and find out that your computer is running at 10 degrees (C) cooler than it was the previous day. And yesterday was cold too! This morning I am here at school before 8am. It's the last day of the semester and this is sadly one of the only few days that I've made it to school this early this semester. I remember last year I would be here on campus at 7am EVERY DAY. Dunno how I pulled that off.

Well the reason that I forced myself out of bed this morning is that I found out late last night that in order for me to continue on as a PhD student here at UT next year I actually have to reapply and be considered with all the other applicants. While the UT application is actually pretty simple and straightforward, the deadline for submission is December 15th which gives me less than week to turn everything in. In fact, I'm leaving on Monday for Virginia so it actually gives me TODAY to get everything finished. Super.  Fortunately all my transcripts and test grades are on file from the last time I applied for grad school so I'm okay there. I just need to get some references and write a purpose statement and then I should be okay.

Other than that, my prof and I went over a list of other schools that I should at least try to apply to. If anything to see if they give me some sort of offer. So far I'm looking at Cornell, UMichigan, Stanford, Berkeley, and of course, your fav and mine, Johnny Hopkins. If there are other ones that you think of that have good biomechanics departments lemme know. I'll most likely be working on these apps next week while I'm up in Virginia. Yes, I have a lot of work to do next week, so um... no one tempt me to play or hang out while I'm up there.
