Fun Weekend
This weekend was actually quite eventful for a change. Usually I spend the weekends working on homework or research at the local Barnes and Nobles. But instead, this week I spent Saturday afternoon volunteering at Brentwood Elementary for their Fall Halloween Carnival. The majority of my time was spent manning the putt-putt golf event. It was so much fun for me. I worked with a great couple who had two kids enrolled at the school. Their enthusiasm for working with the kids was very contagious. These kids would come up and be so excited about putting a ball through this L-shaped course. We had kids as young as 2 years old come and play. These kids were the best. They would putt the ball once. Then pick up their ball, move it to the hole, and then tap it in saying that they hit the ball in in only two shots. Some of the older kids (7-8 years old) were actually really good at it, being able to sink the ball in only 2-3 shots. We estimated that the course was either a par4 or par5, with a par5 still being pretty good.
On Sunday I actually went to a baby shower. And um... yes, I am still a man. The party was for Mary, who is a new grad student in BME. She's pretty far along, and looks pretty ready to burst any day now. It wasn't a big event, just hanging out and eating food. I took a few pictures of party, becoming a veritable Tim Kang in the process. Just kidding Tim... okay, not really:) The pictures are in the UTexas folder in the gallery.
Anyways, now that it's Monday again, it's back to work.
