What's happenin', folks. It's Saturday morning right now with BEAUTIFUL weather here in Austin, TX. Not a rain cloud in the sky and the weather is nice and breezy. Guess we got lucky and the hurricane completely passed us by. Hopefully those who are here in Austin from Houston can at least enjoy the weather. There's the Austin City Limits festival going on today, and Scott's bachelor party where they're going paintballing. And here I am... at work?!!?!?!?

Yeah, that which I just said is true. I've got a September deadline due in about a week along with a bunch of other research that needs to get done this weekend, so rather than being outside and enjoying the weather I'm here in Bellmont working in the lab. I will most likely have to be here ALL day till the late evening. Hopefully I'll at least be able to take tomorrow a little easier, but we'll see. For those who have never been in the lab, this place is slightly dreary with the off-white lighting and gym colored walls and floors from the 80's. Maybe other people will come into the lab to do some work today. At least then there would be some sort of salvation from this place.

Last night, I was feeling really antsy from working all week, so I went out to watch a movie with Alex and James (a Houston evacuee staying at his house). We went to watch "Flightplan" which I thought was actually really good. Alex had no idea what this movie was about, but he agreed to go anyways. Afterwards he said it was very enjoyable as well. The suspense and plot twists were really great. Jodie Foster is a great actress. Her portrayal of a mother in desperate times was very convincing. I've always enjoyed her movies, with the exception of "Nell" which made no sense. Some people say "Contact" was bad, but I actually liked it. Anyways, I won't ruin the movie for anyone, but I will say that one of the things that Jodie Foster's character does at the end that was slightly hard-to-believe. All in all, it was a good movie... and fortunately the movie wasn't sold out or packed. We had gotten our tix off of Fandango ahead of time just in case they were going to be sold out. I found a coupon code (AmEx1) to waive the $1 Fandango fee. Woohoo!

Panic Room was another one of her movies that I did not enjoy.
