It's Sunday night and I'm just sitting home alone by myself. Janice left this afternoon to go back to school, and I went to a coffeeshop to try and get some more work done. I was able to succeed at that, and ended up working a bit more on my journal article. I worked for a few hours, but I have to admit that it wasn't all work because I went to Seattle's Best Coffee and they have free wireless internet there. So some of this afternoon was spent surfing the internet. Looking at car parts as well as electronics. Didn't buy anything since I've spent a LOT of money lately on electronics, hurricane donations, car maintenance, that used car and bills in general. My car is close to needing new tires, but hopefully it can last for another month or two until I secure some funds for that.

So I haven't figured out why Starbucks can't be a little generous and provide free internet as well to its customers. Janice and I went to Barnes and Nobles yesterday and actually ended up paying for internet. The price has dropped so it was slightly more reasonable: 2 hours for $4. Interestingly though, after the two hours were up, we still had internet access on her iBook for the rest of the time we were there. Kind of a nice little bonus on our part.

In other random news, I got a phone call tonight from a classmate asking for help in a class that I took last year. It's this lab class that is known for being pretty hard and time-consuming. No one who took it, me included, seems to think that it's worth the time and effort that it takes to do these experiments and write these lab reports. Anyways, I pick up the phone knowing who it is, and the first thing I hear is, "okay, you just have to know what a big overachiever you are". Hahaha... I had to laugh at that. I was like, "what are you talking about?" Apparently, the prof had posted up some "example lab reports" online and one of the ones that was on the website was mine from last year. I worked hard in that class, but I don't think I went above and beyond what was asked of me. Dunno if it's a good or bad thing to be called an overachiever for doing what you're supposed to do.
