Wedding Pics
What a week. Coming back from New York, Carolyn and I hit the ground running and have barely had a chance to relax. I feel like so much has happened this week that our NY trip seems like such a long time ago. I've posted some pictures on Flickr from the wedding and also from the time I spent just walking around the city.
Sunday before heading to the airport, we were able to go to Redeemer church and hear Dr. Keller preach on the jealousy of God. He preached on how God is described in the bible as a "jealous God". Though we might mistake that jealousy as an emotion that we ourselves feel, Dr. Keller clarified that God is not jealous OF us, but instead He is jealous FOR us. It is a jealousy that seeks to restore relationship, and puts the other person's best interest first. As an example, we've all heard of spouses that have been cheated on. The resulting feeling of jealousy leading the spouse to kill. But the jealousy that God felt for us led him to die on our behalf. The desire to serve the other person reminded Carolyn and I of how we should best serve one another.
