46.7 miles

I rode with the Austin Cycling Association this weekend for one of their meet-and-greet rides. It was just one of those rides advertised on their website to just show up and bike along with other cyclists. The ride started in NE Austin and took us almost as far as Coupland, TX. It was a part of Austin I'd never seen before. I didn't know that there were farms just outside of Austin. Though I had intended on riding the 59 mile route, a quick check at our water supply halfway through made us realize that we didn't have enough to make it that far. So we cut the ride short and followed the 44 mile route, which we should have carried a little more water for.

It made me thankful that for organized rides, like the MS150, there are rest points that are manned by volunteers which pass out water, snacks and also have porta-pottys.

At the end of the ride, I felt pretty sore, but I also felt like I could have kept going given adequate support stations. Only a few weeks left till the MS150 so hopefully I can get enough training in during this time!
