Sleep Training (12th night)
Wow, what a difference from night one. Tonight, Carolyn saw that she was winding down, and began Chloe's bedtime routine. As we kissed her good night and turned out the lights, we expected to hear at least a few minutes of crying before Chloe drifted off to bed.
Not even one minute later, I tried to listen for Chloe's voice over the baby monitor. Nothing. Nothing but pure blissful silence. Amazing! Chloe just went to bed, lay down and fell asleep. No parental soothing necessary, no crazy crying session. Credit really goes to Carolyn who has been so patient in this whole sleep training thing. Carolyn pays attention to Chloe's sleep cues and is quick to put her down for naps when she gets close to tired. As sleep begets sleep, this has allowed Chloe to be well rested throughout the day, and not over-tired by the time it gets to evening.
It's still early to see if this is now the new norm for Chloe, but I hope so. This evening Carolyn was still able to go out to do some shopping while I stayed at home and took care of some household chores.
