This past week there was one day where I misplaced my phone. Well, not really, I was just in a rush to get out the door in the morning that I forgot to bring it. Once I realized my phone-less state, I just felt so naked and isolated. There wasn't going to be any way that anyone could get ahold of me throughout the day. On top to that there were going to be times where I would have to wait for things, and I wouldn't be able to pass the time playing "Plants and Zombies" or "Angry Birds".

Sure, I had email and internet at my disposal, but I was fully aware that no one could really reach me if I wasn't paying attention to my computer at any given time. Then as the day passed, it hit me: No one can reach me! It was almost liberating that my phone wasn't there giving me push notifications everytime a Facebook friend "wrote on your wall" or what have you.

In fact, later that afternoon I rode a shuttle to the Erwin Center where they had an Engineering career fair. I thought I would be bored on the bus, but actually I was able to strike up a conversation with a senior from mechanical engineering. We talked about job prospects for bachelors and doctorates. Nice guy. On the shuttle ride back though, I saw next to an individual talking on the phone the whole way. That was boring.

The only downside throughout the day was on the drive home, when it started pouring cats and dogs. I was praying that I wouldn't get in an accident, or that my car wouldn't decide to stop working today. Without a phone then I would have been in a pickle.

I take stuff apart, I put it back together.
In between, I take photographs of it.
