Kayaking, originally uploaded by jsupes.

Labor Day seems like such a long time ago, even though it was only Monday.

Derrick and Angela came up from H-town this weekend with Shirley, and two other friends from New York, Sarah and Linette. During their time here, we pretty much did all things Austin. Starting Sunday night, our adventures took us to Driftwood, TX for Salt Lick BBQ.

Monday morning started with a hearty delicious breakfast made by Carolyn, and then we headed out to Town Lake for some fun kayaking. We were originally gonna check out the Chilantro BBQ food cart, but they were closed for labor day, and so we headed up to Freebirds, but first stopped by the Bob Bullock museum for some jumping pictures in front of the giant Texas star. Then it was off to downtown where we walked along 6th street, and stopped at Jim Jim's italian ice, back home for a quick nap, and then Rudy's for dinner along with a visit to the Congress Avenue bridge at sundown to see the bats fly out.

Quite a quick visit by our friends, but a fun one nonetheless. I think I gained 5 pounds from the weekend alone.
