On Wednesday we came back to the apartment to find this:

On closer inspection, I saw that the thief or thieves had made off with the stereo, and the ipod hidden under the seat. While neither of those held much monetary value, the trouble that this caused is somewhat annoying.

This week I've had to replace the window, get the window re-tinted, order a new hazard button which was connected to the dash faceplate, and order a new face plate to fill the hole in the dash. All of this before even replacing the radio which I'm kinda leery about doing now anyways. Sad to say, all of this was in our apartment complex, a gated community that has been very safe according to our neighbors who have lived here for a while. In fact, a neighbor told me that the last time they had heard of something like this happening was 6 years ago, at which there were a rash of car burglaries. This time only my car was broken into. The management here at our apartment hasn't been too helpful, except only to tell me that they would put a note in our file that we were robbed. There are cameras on the property, but only to monitor who comes in and out of the gate.

In the end, it's just stuff that can be replaced, especially since none of it was overly expensive. It's just the trouble that you have to go through after an incident like this.

I take stuff apart, I put it back together.
